A new study has found a surprisingly high number of people suffering from long-haul Covid. Approximately 43% of people infected with the virus have experienced long-term side effects. A recent study published in the Medrxiv preprint journal assessed the prevalence of long Covid and its most common symptoms globally.
According to Medrxiv, around ninety million individuals across the globe are suffering from long COVID, with over two hundred distinct residual symptoms. There is still a lot of uncertainty surrounding why people are enduring long COVID for periods ranging from 12 weeks to even years after their initial COVID-19 infection.
