CDC Data: ‘Stealth’ Omicron Responsible for More Than 1 in 10 Coronavirus Cases

BA.2. “stealth” omicron, was responsible for about 11% of all omicron cases in the Unites States. This subvariant is more contagious than the variant, omicron. While it is rare to be infected by this subvariant, is is mostly seen in young, unvaccinated children that have mild symptoms. Experts are concerned that the relaxed approach to masking and other mitigation measures will give this subvariant an advantage and potentially cause additional spreading.
