16 year old Long Hauler patient, Amy P. has accepted that she will be fighting the effects of COVID-19 for the rest of her life.
Researchers have been following Amy P.’s progress since doctors confirmed last fall that she was a COVID-19 long-hauler; one of a small percentage of people infected whose symptoms persist for weeks or months longer than it usually takes for the disease to run its course.
She tested positive for COVID-19 on July 25, 2020. Her symptoms of low energy, memory lapses and achy joints never went away after the test indicated she had this virus.
