According to a recent research, long COVID symptoms were discovered by extracting health data from records and finding that over one third of individuals had them three to six months after receiving a COVID diagnosis.
Individuals with long COVID have persistent symptoms, such as tiredness and brain fog, that last beyond the common recovery time of 3–4 weeks after the symptom start. Women, older individuals, and persons with severe illness in the early phase of a SARS-CoV-2 infection were found to be more likely to experience long COVID symptoms according to the study. According to the researchers’ findings, almost 37% of patients had at least one sign of long COVID 3–6 months after contracting SARS-CoV-2 virus.
