Critical body parts, such as major organs like the heart, lungs and brain are severely impaired months after a patient’s first diagnosis of COVID-19.
According to the Medical Journal, “one or more organs are impaired for up to four months in 70% of long haulers”. Researchers are working to gather more information to see average impairment as well as develop possible solutions for those suffering from “long COVID”.
