Northwestern University conducted a new study and found that 85% of COID-19 Long Haulers may experience neurological symptoms far pass six weeks after recovering from the virus.
This recent study was done on 100 patients that were never hospitalized for their initial illness of COVID-19. The following findings of these patients’ symptoms were:
· 85% fatigue
· 81% brain fog
· 68% constant headaches
· 60% numbness/tingling
The study included detailed neurological exams, diagnostic testing and a look into patients’ quality of life. Cognitive function tests were done as well to see the severity of COVID=19 Long Haulers.
Northwestern’s study realized many of the participants became sick before widespread testing was available. Due to that within the 100 patient study they included 50 long haulers with lab test positive results and 50 negative test results.
