Trump says Dems Disparaged Vaccine When He Was President

In a recent interview, President Donald Trump argued that Democrats had been responsible for Americans’ vaccine refusal. “When I was president,” he said, “Democrats disparaged vaccines.”

Trump responded to President Biden’s executive order last week requiring businesses with more than 100 employees to require coronavirus immunizations or test workers every week. Biden also declared that all federal government employees will be required to have a COVID-19 vaccination.

“It shouldn’t be necessary,” Trump said

As the pandemic raged in 2020, the Trump administration established Operation Warp Speed, a public-private collaboration to develop vaccines against the novel coronavirus. The Food and Drug Administration gave emergency use authorizations (EUAs) for Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines under his administration.
