“The decision has to be made by the city employee,” Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti stated today, “and if they don’t want to get vaccinated against Covid 19 by December 18, they should be prepared to lose their job.”
The deadline for the city’s vaccination requirement was originally today. Employees, though, would have until December 18 under a proposal submitted Tuesday by the city administrative officer to provide evidence of immunization. According to Nury Martinez’s office, no date has been set for the City Council’s formal approval of the plan yet; however, Garcetti released a statement.
