New Yorkers and Mental Health, Post COVID-19

New York was in the midst of a brutal last spring last year thanks to COVID-19. The stress for many was overwhelming and over a year later, the trauma hasn’t subsided especially amongst children either. 

Mental health problems surged had reached record high during the pandemic, and it was more evident among the youth. There has been a dramatic increase in suicide among children. Suicide is the third most common death for teenagers right after accidents and cancer.
