Dr. Dennis McGorry Jr., the medical director of St. Luke’s, stated that 30% of adulst and children who contracted COVID-19 experience lingering symptoms. The biggest commonality of this experience is the ones who had “mild symptoms” or asymptomatic effects at first, now are experiencing long-lasting ailments.
Even though COVID-19 is seen as a “respiratory infection, McGorry said that this virus creates significant “inflammatory responses” throughout the body. Among the most common symptoms, survivors are struggling from neurological issues that affect breathing, thinking and even walking among 10-30 percent.
