DePaul University conducted a study of 280 Long Haulers and found that while most of the symptoms improved over time, there are still some patients who continue to experience symptoms and even get worse over time.
For the study, researchers surveyed two groups about their symptoms; those who suffered from COVID long-haulers and those with ME/CFS (myalgic encephalomyelitis/ Chronic Fatigue Syndrome).
The reason this study was done was due too the fact that many long-haulers experiencing similar symptoms to those with ME/CFS.
