The Chinese government rejected a new World Health Organization (WHO) plan to study the origins of COVID-19 because it dismissed as rumor any theory that leaked from a China lab. WHO Chiefe, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has announced he will be revisiting the laboratories in Wuhan, China and call for greater transparency. Previous investigations with work from WHO have found it "extremely unlikely" that the virus had escaped from this lab before being identified. Survivors of Covid-19 and relatives of those who died from it are organizing into a grass-roots lobbying force in Facebook groups, text chains, and after-work Zoom calls hoping to make a difference. This is not a partisan issue that devolves into left vs right but an national emergency that affects all Americans . The groups have ams like "Covid Survivors for Change" and Y"oung Widows and Widowers of Covid-19". These groups that were born of grief and a need for emotional support but are now turning to advocacy. They campaign to address mental health and disability benefits, paid leave for illness, honing the recognition of COVID long Haulers as a disease and creating a national holiday to honor victims. New research has found that people who contract COVID-19 and exhibit five of the same symptoms within the first week will most likely have “long haulers.” The symptoms are fatigue, headaches, shortness of breath or fever or stomach pain.
