More than 128 million people worldwide have contracted COVID-19 and in the US alone, more than 30 million Americans have been infected. Some are still recovering and an estimated 2 million long-haul survivors are still experiencing crippling symptoms.  Anxiety and fatigue are among of the highest symptoms that patients experience that keeps them from daily activities like working out. Followed by some more severe symptoms like headaches and loss of focus which keeps some Coloradans out of work. In Colorado, doctors have noticed a third of the patients being examined for long-haul and it is seen that it varies from person to person. Long Covid Harms Thousands

Survivors with mild cases of COVID-19 are seen to suffer from Post-COVID Syndrome. An estimate of 10% of survivors will become “long-haulers”. Researchers estimate that is 20,000 Americans every month. It is seen that average Post-COVID patients are in their early 40’s and previously healthy before getting sick and battling extreme fatigue and aches. Some Health Workers Report Getting Long Covid After Just Mild Symptoms

A study in Stockholm showed fifteen percent of healthcare workers who recovered from mild cases of COVID-19 reported having at least one severe symptom interrupting their professional and work life as far past 8 months. 323 participants who were positive with mild illness reported 26% had a symptom lasting at least two months while 15% reported having one to two severe symptoms lasting for 8 months or more.  The most common symptoms lasting longer than 2 months included fatigue, lost of smell or taste and shortness of breath. The National Institutes of Health Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are funding studies to see the symptoms and long-term effects that COVID-19 is having on patients.  Some studies show symptoms persist up to 50% of the cases that they have witnessed and out of that percentage only 2.5% of people have symptoms that persist far past 12 weeks. Now there are more than 30 million people that contracted COVID-19 and the perspective of these findings show that three-quarters of a million people are potentially dealing with long-haul symptoms. Doctor Shares Unique Treatments For Longhaulers

AMA COVID-19 resource center created an approach to treating long-haulers to give hope for those still suffering from symptoms in New Jersey and across the nation.  Doctors found that patients were experiencing many different symptoms caused by COVID-19 as well as symptoms that targeted various organs.
