One year and a half into the COVID-19 pandemic, researchers are beginning to learn more about the effects and long term impacts of coronavirus.
A recently popularized term, “long haulers,” describes people with long-term symptoms of COVID-19 after they’ve recovered from the virus. Recent data has also shown that these effects are both physical and mental.
The CDC found that 35.6% of Americans experienced anxiety or depression while they were infected with COVID-19 and the National Center for Health Statistics reported that 11% of Americans had anxiety or depression in the same time period.
