COVID-19 has been seen to have various symptoms and just like the severity, it may vary from patient to patient. The neurological symptoms are some of the worse for patients such as headaches and loss of smell and taste. Some are exploring and investigating if dizziness and vertigo are some of the symptoms one may suffer from COVID-19.
The way COVID-19 attacks the body may give us clues to why dizziness is a symptom. Due to the virus inflaming the body and attacking the nerve tissues (major organs such as lungs and brain), and damaging nerve tissue due to reduced injury speaks to similar ways of dizziness and vertigo. Current reports suggest these symptoms appear early and common in contracting COVID-19.
