A review in Scientific Reports of COVID-19 patients across multiple countries sheds new light on the lingering “long-hauler” side effects of the virus. Analyzing a total of 18,000 publications, the report focused on data from 15 relevant studies concerning nearly 48,000 patients internationally.
In the study, authors estimated that eighty percent of patients infected with COVID-19 would develop long-term symptoms. As well as identified fifty five different long-term effects associated with the virus, from persistent coughing to chest pain to paranoia.
