There is a wide range of severity in the long-term effects for Covid-19 patients and as it is seen unpredictable and combinations of symptoms affects daily life. It is unclear how many people have developed long-lasting symptoms from Covid-19, but those who do have trouble going back to their careers to having to end work all together.
Some may say going on disability might be an option, but the process is a bit long due to the requirements and assessments needed to be dubbed “disable and unable to work”.
Many employers are seen “paying out” severances and terminating those taking longer than 90 days to recover from Covid-19.
The issue is brought up, do companies deny “reasonable accommodations” for employees dealing with Covid-19? 1990 Americans with Disability Act come in to mind and does it support those who are suffering from long haulers?
There is currently a lawsuit taking place against Tony Robbins’ Research International about the severity and durations of Covid-19 symptoms and termination of an employee willing to work with accommodations and at home, but was denied and then let go.
