The National Institute of Health established the “RECOVER” project, which allocated $470 million to fund long-term research on COVID Long Haulers. The Mayo Clinic will take a leading role in a new nationwide effort to assist COVID-19 long-haulers as a result of NIH funding.
COVID-19 survivors will be a part of the national study population. The NIH added that combining new and existing research into one project will help speed up the timeline of understanding and treating long-haulers. This not only gives hope, but it also provides doctors and researchers with a deeper knowledge of how to treat them.
