Mother Of 2 Develops Heart Condition after Long Haulers

Over the past year and even last six months there has been discussion and research on lingering symptoms after COVID=19. Michaelene Carlton, 47 years old from Delaware is currently suffering from severe symptoms after having a mild case of COVID in March 2020. 

Before her diagnosis she was actively exercising, working in special education and a wife and mom of two teens. Two months after getting COVID she was diagnosed with postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome where the body has trouble controlling their blood flow.  This condition has severely limited Carlton’s mobility and daily activities.

Doctors state that POTS diagnosis occur after a viral or bacterial infection. It is not clear if patients are developing POTS as a long hauler symptom after COVID-19, but the infection may trigger POTS.
