New York Issues Indoor Mask Mandate

New York Governor Kathy Hochul has announced a new temporary indoor mask requirement, but one county leader says he won’t be enforcing it. The regulation, which will be in place from Monday, December 13, until at least January 15, 2022, states that New Yorkers must wear a mask in all indoor public areas unless businesses meet a vaccination threshold.

According to a press release, the governor is attempting to anticipate a “winter surge” due to three factors: increased instances, reduced hospital capacity, and low vaccination rates in certain regions.
