Overall an estimate of ten to thirty percent of people with COVID-19 are suffering from symptoms lasting for months. There are not many answers to these symptoms, but some of those suffering from “long-haulers” are finding relief after getting the vaccine. Some people are reporting suffering from the symptoms even worse one to three weeks after their vaccinations to fully recovering from the “brain fog” and neurological symptoms that at times cripple patients from their daily lives. There is no real treatment for these symptoms, but it seems that the vaccine may support those suffering. Finally, Some Validation. OHSU Seeks To Study Longhaulers.

Oregon Health and Science University are working with people who are affected by long-hauler systems of COVID-19. They currently have a waitlist of 100 people and anticipate to see many more that will reach out to OHSU. The program goes through a “head-to-toe” on symptoms so they can provide multiple specialists to care for these people. Depending on the symptoms the program can also order other studies or make referrals to other specialists for better management and sufficient care for those who are suffering from long-haulers. Over the past year and even last six months there has been discussion and research on lingering symptoms after COVID=19.
