It’s been a year and a half since this once energetic mother, grad student and emergency room nurse, Trya Street, hasn’t felt sick. “I was so short of breath struggling just to walk,” she says.
Street is a “long hauler,” someone who has lingering COVID-19 symptoms for months after contracting the virus twice, while working as an essential worker during the height of the pandemic.
One day while she was working, Street noticed her symptoms were particularly bad and alerted her doctor. Upon Her diagnosis of Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, or POTS, a blood circulation disorder.
