Many patients who were initially diagnosed with COVID-19 may face long term symptoms, according to Dr. Nasia Safdar, medical director of infection control at UW Health. She said these often include new or persistent symptoms that last for 30 days after diagnosis. Long-term effects of COVID-19 can include difficulty of breathing, fatigue and brain fog. These symptoms happen even in those who have a mild or undetected case of the virus
Safdar calls this a “Shadow Pandemic”
