Research done by the journal of Nature Medicine goes in depth of the long-term effects of COVID-19. Some of the challenges of “long-haulers” face effect the whole body when recovering.
Nature Medicine outlines that the lunges, Kidneys, heart and even the skin are affected by long-term COVID-19. While those are the most common, they are also identifying neurological, gastrointestinal and endocrine systems receive extensive damage as well.
This research of long-haulers that was conducted on people that were not sick enough to be hospitalized, but found that the most common symptom was fatigue, shortness of breath, anxiety, loss sense of smell and taste and brain fog.
