A survey was conducted on half of a million adults in England and found that many are suffering from COVID Long Haulers. It has been a challenge to manage the long-term symptoms and the government funded $50 million to continue research on COVID Long Haulers.
This was a self-reported survey and showed that:
- 37% of the patients reported one symptom lasting 12 weeks or longer
- 15% of patients reported from suffering 3-4 symptoms 12 weeks or longer
- Long-term symptoms were reported more with women than men.
The study also shows that there is no standard definition in the severity of symptoms, because range is so wide spread. COVID Long Haulers is not understood fully and there are still a lot of unanswered questions.
