As the number of Delta Variant COVID-19 cases continues to grow, some patients are still working to recover from their first rounds of the virus, even months after exposure. These patients are called COVID “Long Haulers”
Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) opened its doors to a clinic specifically for long-haulers.
Roughly five months ago, the hospital saw people coming in with neurological symptoms such as cognitive impairment and fatigue.
The Adult Post-acute COVID Clinic at VUMC provides treatments and doctor visits based on the patient’s needs. To qualify for the clinic, patients must have had a positive COVID-19 test from four to six weeks ago or after their diagnosis, whichever is longer. The clinic accepts patients experiencing side effects up to eight weeks
