A study on fully vaccinated Israeli healthcare workers who contracted COVID-19 showed full immunity did not guarantee they would not get sick with the virus. The study also found lingering symptoms even in those that were fully vaccinated resulted in a handful of breakthrough cases among the group.
Almost 40% of healthcare professionals vaccinated against COVID contracted it, with about 20% lingering with symptoms for over six weeks. Experts are recommending that more research is needed but they concede that the vaccine isn’t always 100% effective and a full cure could be difficult to create.
